As 2022 has drawn to a close, and 2023 has just begun we’re taking the time to reflect back over the incredible year that Cian’s Kennels has had.
January 1st last year we announced that we were launching Phase 1 in 10 days, so much has happened since then it feels like forever ago! Our Steeltech Garden Sheds unit flew up and so many wonderfully generous sponsors came together to make our Visiting Centre plans a reality. Doireann Garrihy and Bertie did us the honour of unveiling the plaque and declaring the Visiting Centre officially open on May 20th!
Since then we’ve helped multiple pets be closer to sick children and their families, our vans have been all round the country transporting those precious pups, we’ve had sleepovers in the DSPCA Pet Hotel & Doggie Daycare and some heartwarming reunions in our unit.
We got out of our uniforms and dolled up for the The National Lottery Good Causes Awards and again for our Inaugural Charity Ball in The Ardilaun Hotel! We got soaked marching in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and roasted in our Doggy Lounge at Old School New School! We met you all at Pups in the Park, and then dressed up one of our own for Santa Paws, goodie bags and a cuppa with Barróg in Ronald McDonald House Charities Ireland!
None of what we’ve accomplished this year would be possible without the serious support and fundraising we receive from you and this year you’ve gone above and beyond! Hair cuts, pyjama days, music nights, IronMan, truck runs, mini and full marathons, tractor runs, fancy dress, saving tips from work – you’ve done it all!
I could write for days about the year we’ve had, but we all know nobody wants to read that! So instead, I’ll leave you with this video of just some of the fun we’ve had this year – put together by the wonderful Mick Conlon of Ballymahon TV. Thank you so much Mick.
All that’s left for me to say now is thank you to everybody who helped make all of this happen, wishing you all a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year.
We’re excited to see what 2023 has in store for Cian’s Kennels – Cian’s story will continue on!
